Ruro Agro Services Association (RASA) is a not-for-profit, Fair Trade organization that trains women to make gourmet spices and hair and body care products from pure, organic, natural materials. Women from underprivileged communities are equipped with technical and managerial skills to set up and run efficient production units for agro-based products. Staff are taught the skills required for preparation, production, and packaging of the products and each unit is furnished with basic processing and testing facilities.

Rasa was established by Sasha in 1991 as a predominantly non-craft enterprise focused on the wellness and food market segments. The Rasa range takes its name from the feelings that are very "Indian". In Sanskrit, it means a response of the mind, a vital feeling - the spice of life. The emphasis is on naturally inspired products using traditional recipes from age old ayurvedic wisdom. These recipes are designed for contemporary living.Rasa's range of products include shampoos, bathing bars, hair oils, facial oils, massage oils, spice blend mixes among other products.

What makes Rasa's products stand out are its commitment to product sustainability and to ethical supply chains. Rasa strives to instil Fair Trade standards of equity, transparency, capacity buidling, empowerment, social security and environmental sustainability at all levels of its supply chain. This makes both Punya and Rasa highly compatible, and Punya looks forward to a fruitful partnership with Rasa going forward.
